Reduction of 50% of registration fee for domestically produced vehicles

The first-time registration fee applied for cars, trailers or semi-trailers towed by cars and similar vehicles.

- From December 1, 2021 to the end of May 31, 2022:
The registration fee is equal to 50% of the fee specified in Decree 20/2019. /ND-CP amending Decree 140/2016/ND-CP on registration fees: Current resolutions of the People's Council or current decisions of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally administered cities regarding registration fee rates and amendments, supplements, and replacements (if any). 

For example, according to Decree 20/2019/ND-CP, the first registration fee for passenger cars with 9 seats or less is 10%. Registration fee will be reduced to 5%.

- From June 1, 2022 onwards:

The registration fee will continue to comply with the provisions of Decree 20/2019/ND-CP amending Decree 140/2016/ND- CP on registration fee: Current resolutions of the People's Council or current decisions of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally administered cities regarding registration fee rates and amendments, supplements, and replacements (if any).

Decree 103/2021/ND-CP takes effect from December 1, 2021 to the end of May 31, 2022.
