Instructions for applying the wear and tear rate of steel sheet piles

Question:

“According to the construction estimate norms issued together with the Circular No. 10/2019/TT-BXD dated December 29, 2019 of the Ministry of Construction regarding the piles work, it only guides how to calculate the consumption materials for piling but does not mention the cost of driving, so we used the cost norm of piling for driving.

The question is whether the work of driving steel sheet piles is subject to the wear and tear of materials and is it correct to apply the cost norms of piling for driving work?”

Answer of Economic Construction Department:

 “On August 31, 2021, the Ministry of Construction issued Circular No. 12/2021/TT-BXD promulgating construction norms. In which, Chapter III, Point 10, guiding on the application of norms:

The wear and tear of Larsen piles uprooted and used many times for piling and driving:

 - The wear and tear material for one time of driving and pulling up piles when the time of the pile in work is less than 1 month is applied for both piling and driving;

- Waste due to chipped, torn pile head, pile cap is only calculated for piling work.
