Viet Australia hold the charity trip in Xuyen Moc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau on May 27, 2023

Continuing this good and meaningful tradition, on May 27, 2023, the members of VAAL came together to visit and give gifts to more than 200 poor households in Hoa Hoi commune, Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. These were households with lonely senior people, persons with disabilities, and persons without stable jobs.

 

The gift boxes, which were filled with necessities that were highly practical for the poor and represented the heart of the VAAL members' desire to share with everyone a little of the struggles and challenges of daily life.

 

 

 

In particular, during the trip, there was also the companionship of the volunteers of the Tuy Duyen group, who served a delicious lunch with “banh xeo” pancakes. The receivers accepted the invitation and remained together to enjoy the hot, crispy shrimp pancakes that had just been fried. Green veggies and pancakes were placed on round tables so that guests could enjoy a satisfying lunch. Everyone praised "banh xeo" as being extremely wonderful and continued to wait to take it home. The orange team of “waiters” worked at full capacity to promptly bring cakes to each table to help people enjoy them comfortably. Everyone was sweating, but they were all quite glad because their efforts had made the local poor happy.

 

Saying goodbye to the people of Hoa Hoi commune, the team continued their journey to the Hong Quang pagoda in Tan Hoa commune, Phu My, Ba Ria - Vung Tau. This was a home for nearly 100 orphans and abandoned children who were cared for by monks and sponsors. From newborn babies a few months old to teenagers, all were well taken care of the cost of living: food, bed and school.

 

The team also lingered together to help serve dinner for the children at the pagoda before saying goodbye and returning to the city, and although tired after a day of preparing gifts and meals for the poor and children, everyone was happy and excited to see how even a small contribution from each member of VAAL could bring great joy to those who are still in need.
