Ho Chi Minh City Project Management Board for Transport Infrastructure Construction

Kim Cuong Island Bridge – A Key Transportation Project in Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of May 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport officially opened the Kim Cuong Island Bridge (District 2) to traffic after just over 8 months of construction, nearly 2 months ahead of schedule.

With a total investment of nearly VND 500 billion, the bridge is approximately 300 meters long and 22 meters wide, featuring 4 traffic lanes. It connects the Saigon Riverside Road from Mai Chi Tho Boulevard to Phu My Bridge, helping ease congestion on Dong Van Cong Street and improving traffic flow in the eastern part of the city.

The project also includes auxiliary works such as river embankments, riverside roads, lighting systems, and landscaping, funded by the city budget and contributions from private enterprises.

The bridge plays a crucial role in completing the infrastructure linkage for the Kim Cuong Island Urban Area – a real estate development project with a total investment of nearly VND 1,900 billion, comprising 6 blocks of apartments, hotels, and commercial spaces. The Brilliant Tower, part of the complex, is already operational with over 250 premium apartments catering to middle-class residents and expatriates.
